Pakistani Christian jailed for Facebook ‘like’

Pakistani police have arrested a Christian teenager on blasphemy charges after he “liked” an “inappropriate” photograph of Mecca on Facebook. Police official Akhtar Ansari said the 16-year-old, in the eastern Punjab province, was in jail awaiting trial.

Jordanian writer killed for ‘insulting Islam’

The Christian writer Nahed Hattar was shot dead outside a courtroom in Amman, Jordan, on Saturday. He had been due to stand trial for sharing a cartoon mocking Islam.

Blood of St Januarius liquefies on feast day

The blood of St Januarius liquefied last week in Naples cathedral. The liquefaction occurred on September 19, the saint’s feast day.
